Job Profile

We’re looking for a highly motivated, energetic PR Specialist to own press and media relations for our mix of exciting, fast-growing clients.

Your overall objective is to pitch, sell and create engaging hooks and stories to generate media interest and coverage across all clients. Our clients are mostly B2C or B2B technology businesses, apps, online media companies, marketplaces and financial services brands.

Day-to-day you’ll be speaking to journalists, writing influential, captivating content and developing bold, creative news angles, stories and pitches. Coverage will include a range of media, from mainstream and trade press, to investor and startup publications.

You’re someone who is really passionate about the clients they represent, understanding every nuance of their brand and marrying that to journalists’ objectives. You love pitching and selling your clients to the media, and are always coming up with creative, striking ways to make headlines. 

In this role, you will be supported by the senior leadership team, both with decades-long experience in brand, PR and digital marketing. As a team, we will develop highly engaging media strategies for clients, build effective processes and ensure you have the tools that you need for success.

  • At least 3-5 years of public relations or corporate comms experience
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and execute successful public relations campaigns
  • Proven ability to drive an integrated communications strategy, spanning top-tier press, trade publications, new media, influencers and communities
  • Excellent people skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Good data analysis and reporting skills
  • Agency experience is preferred

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with journalists and influencers
  • Building and regularly updating a relevant and engaged media database 
  • Writing press releases and pitches on behalf of clients
  • Ghostwriting bylined articles and placed features
  • Ensuring all communication is aligned to the client’s brand and TOV
  • Providing innovative and creative ideas to clients
  • Running a responsive PR desk, managing all relevant media enquiries in a professional and timely manner 
  • Analysing PR coverage and providing written reports
  • Developing industry, sector and product-focused PR campaigns
  • Contributing to regular meetings, and liaising and updating clients on PR activities
  • Building industry-client relationships and maintaining a network of media contacts including journalists and industry spokespeople
  • Developing news angles, stories and pitches to further the client’s profile, products and services
  • Pitching story ideas, profile pieces, bylined articles and other content to media
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of target media’s editorial and events calendars and identifying opportunities for content placement
  • Organising, scheduling, and preparing key leaders for press interviews
  • Setting measurable KPIs for all PR programmes and providing regular impact and ROI reports
  • Tracking and analysing media coverage to inform future campaigns
  • Monitoring media activity and industry trends to find reactive news opportunities
  • Sharing media feedback and insights as well as competitor trends
  • Providing inspirational and creative and thought leadership on ways to reach and gain attention of the media
